A Zenitel ICX-AlphaCom server needs a minimum of two static lines to make and receive AlphaNet calls. You can add up to 254 ICX-AlphaCom servers interconnected in a single AlphaNet network. Each ICX-AlphaCom server requires an AlphaNet license ILI-AN2 or ILI-AN8.

AlphaNet Network Switch Setup: Seamless Integration for Optimal Performance

AlphaNet provides internal network redundancy for mission-critical communications, eliminating the need to depend on a single external provider for failover. It does this by connecting each ICX-AlphaCom in the network using multiple redundant paths. This reduces call failure and enables alternative routing when the primary AlphaNet connection is down.

This proprietary ring technology is faster and more reliable than traditional STP and RSTP rings because it does not send bandwidth-consuming watchdog packets to monitor ring port connections. This high-speed ring recovery mechanism also minimizes the amount of data loss during ring recovery.

Use the show running-config command to view the current running configuration on your switch, including interface settings, VLANs, and security configurations. Once you’ve verified the configuration, save it to the startup configuration using the copy running-config startup-config command. This will guarantee that the configuration is retained even after the switch is restarted.
